Custom Polyclonal Antiserum Production

When you have purified or synthesized a new antigen, it may be difficult or impossible to obtain commercial antiserum specific to this material. Custom antiserum production is the development of polyclonal antibodies specific for your antigen. Antiserum production is available in sheep, goats, or rabbits. Use our immunization protocol or specific a schedule of your choice.

Consider sheep or goats, especially if you need a large volume of antiserum. Our price structure is designed to keep initial costs as low as possible, to give you a chance to determine whether the antiserum will be useful for your needs. Large volumes (up to several liters) can be obtained.

Schedule:
Week 0 - Prebleed (10 mL serum) and immunization
Week 8 - 1st antiserum sample (10 ml)
Week 12 - 2nd antiserum sample (10 ml)
Usual bleed consists of 180-250 ml. This may be purchased at $0.65/ml.
(100 ml minimum)
Package includes use of one animal and housing for 3 months. Continued maintenance is $65/mo which includes housing and 1 boost / bleed as requested Shipping and delivery fees are additional.

Week 0 - Prebleed (10 ml serum) and immunization
Week 8 - 1st antiserum sample (10 ml)
Week 12 - 2nd antiserum sample (10 ml)
Usual bleed consists of 10-20 ml.
Package includes use of one animal and housing for 3 months. Continued maintenance is $50/MO which includes housing and 1 boost / bleed as requested. Terminal bleed, for maximum serum yield, is $1.50/ml of serum obtained. Shipping and delivery fees are additional.

Caveat Emptor

All immunizations are performed on a "best effort" basis. We cannot guarantee how an individual animal will respond to a given antigen.

With certain antigens, donor animals may exhibit unacceptably high background titer. Prescreening of donors is available, please call for details.
